{Vintage Desk}

I got this beauty off Craigslist and dragged my friend Jenny along for the pick-up.  We met the owner at a storage unit and he didn't share my zeal of stuffing the desk in my trunk.  We ended up driving home (with the desk successfully stuffed in my trunk!) with... the trunk open.  On the freeway.  With our two little guys in the backseat.  Whatever works, right?

Anyway, here's the before.  It was the man's childhood desk from the 60's.

It had been in his childhood home and when they moved it to the storage unit, it suffered some damage.  Although that's great for me, since I got it discounted and Mike can fix anything!

So after some wood glue, clamps, paint, and hardware (whew!), here she is after:

Gorgeous, right?!

It has two cutie pie little drawers on top and two wide ones below.  They all got some pretty glass knobs that are like furniture candy!

Lining with fabric is so easy.  I just measured and cut and then adhered it with spray adhesive.

I really love this one!
Update: Sold!

{The cutest little side-coffee-end table}

You know you have some pretty fabulous friends when they start dumpster diving for you.  :)

When our friend Sara found this curbside, she put it in her car and told me she'd be delivering it soon.

We got it last night and today, it's already done.

Here's the before...
Super cool design and lines but in need of lots of wood filler and sanding.

And, the after:

 How cool is that?!
And just in case you're thinking we're crazy for painting wood, it was too damaged for us to save.  Plus, I think the white is pretty cool!

We're not totally sure if he was built to be a side table, an end table, or even a coffee table, but we do hope that wherever he lands, he'll be enjoyed.
 Such a great transformation!
Thank you Sara for this great piece!

Such a cutie in our front room!

Sweet Desk's New Home

Remember the sweet desk that Mike turned from trash to treasure?

Well she sold and today she went to her new home.

I just had to share pictures of her in her new home because the pictures made me swoon!

Isn't it precious?!  I'm so excited that sweet Mia will be using this desk for many years to come.

Love, love, love!

{Retro Dresser}

Rachel and I found this swanky guy at Habitat for Humanity's Re-Store retail shop.

He was yellowed and dirty, but we saw the potential.
Before:

 After:

White paint, hardware cleaned and sprayed, and he was good to go.

He also came with a sweet nightstand.
Both pieces were sold (and picked up!) within 24 hours.  Everyone seems to love white furniture!

{Sweet Desk}

Late one evening (okay, it was actually only 8ish, but that's suddenly become pretty "late" over here!), my friend Heather texted to let me know that her neighbor was throwing out an old desk.

I had barely finished reading the text before I was in my car (pajamas on and all; remember, it was late) and searching for it.

It was found and loaded and I was thrilled.

Upon inspection, Mike was a little less than.  Ha!  The paint was so thick and gloppy, the caning was damaged beyond repair, and the wood was separating.  But he saw the potential!
And after all the TLC he put into it...
 She's gorgeous!
 Aside from picking it up, my only contribution to this piece was to put on some new glass knobs and line the drawer.
 Even better is that it's already sold and will be going to a sweet little girl!

One more final picture (just because I love how it turned out!):

{Curvy Coffee}

This pretty lady got rescued from a life in the dump.

She was sitting curbside and tons of old kitchen cabinets had been piled on top of her.

I brought her home, sanded and painted her...

Gorgeous!
She sold the same day.
 So thankful for curbside finds (though I could use a larger car; it's pretty tough to fit furniture and two car seats in my car!).

{Knobby Side Tables}

My friend was having trouble selling these little guys and thought that maybe some paint would freshen them up.

Here's the before (they belonged to her mother-in-law):

And the after:

They have such cute little details and lines!

They just got cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted.

Until they sell, they'll double as side tables in our front room!

And... They sold!
